On the occasion of the conference organized by the Monaco Economic Board on February 9th 2018 at the Hotel Metropole of Monaco, Mr. Igor YURGENS, Honorary Consul General of Monaco in Moscow and Vice Chairman of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), presented the economic situation and the business climate in Russia.

Nearly a hundred businessmen and representatives of the Principality attended this event in order to improve their knowledge of this market and to exchange their ideas.

In her opening speech, HE Mrs. Mireille PETTITI, Ambassador of Monaco in Russia, presented the bilateral relations between two countries, particularly in the field of business. She specified that the Monegasque authorities will continue their efforts in Moscow while developing, in the future, cooperation with high potential cities such as Rostov or St. Petersburg.

In addition to these remarks Mr. Michel DOTTA has reminded that Russia is the country in which the MEB has organized the largest number of actions since 2013 and that it has all the necessary relays to support its members in the development of their Russian activities.

Mr. Igor YURGENS summed up the economic situation in Russia which experienced an upturn in 2016 despite a serious crisis in recent years due to the Western sanctions and the fall of oil prices. He also listed the structural reforms which could, according to him, lead Russia to the path of long-term and sustainable growth.
