Participation of the Ambassador in the ceremony appointing two Monegasque artists as honorary members of the Russian Academy of Arts

On July 10, 2019, Gérard PETTITI and Claude ROSTICHER - Monegasque artists - had the privilege of being named honorary members of the Russian Academy of Arts during a ceremony organized in the historical building of this institution.

This is a rare privilege in Russia, especially for foreign artists. They are the first Monegasques to receive this distinction.

The ceremony took place the day after the opening of the exhibition "Monaco, stories of artists", presented by Messrs PETTITI and ROSTICHER at the Museum of Modern Arts in Moscow.

Since its creation in 1757, under the reign of Empress Catherine II, the Russian Academy of Arts has been a leading cultural entity. It is currently chaired by Mr. Zurab TSERETELI - a painter, sculptor and architect who is very well known in Russia.
