Russian training ship SEDOV makes port of call in Monaco

As part of the 2015 – the Year of Russia in Monaco, SEDOV, the Russian training ship, will make an official port of call in the Principality from Saturday 3 to Wednesday 7 October.

The SEDOV is currently the largest sailing ship in operation in the world. The four-masted barque built in Germany in 1921 belongs to Murmansk State Technical University, whose principal mission is to train and prepare cadets.

The SEDOV regularly takes part in major international maritime events such as the Tall Ships’ international races and in polar expeditions. It holds the official speed record for ships in its class.

As part of its annual training voyage, the SEDOV and its 200 crew members will make a port of call in Monaco. During its stay, it will be open to the public for visits on 4, 5 and 6 October, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
